SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship are availed for the reservation category student and for the first graduates from district adidravida tribal welfare development, district backward classes, minority welfare department &department of education, Sivagangai . The needed information and filled forms are forwarded through the college to the concern authorities on request of the candidate. The queries related to scholarship are enquired through college administrative officer for the benefit of students..

CO CURICULAR

SNA

The Student Nurses’ Association is a nation wide organization , established at the RASS Academy college of Nursing in the year 2007. Membership is compulsory, on admission both at the local (branch/ unit) and national levels. Faculty members are appointed as coordinators at college level, executive committees members are elected by voting. The SNA uplifts the talent of students through co curricular and extracurricular activities. Various committee working under SNA are The Health Care, Sports, Cultural & Entertainment, Food and hygiene, Magazine/ Publication, College Maintenance & Media, Fellowship/ Spiritual Nurture Committees .


NSS

National servise scheme (NSS) is an Indian government sponsored program , started in 1969 under the department of youth affairs and sports of the government of India

Motto
The motto of NSS” Not Me But You”,reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self less service.NSS helps the students develop appreciation to other person’s point of view and also show consideration to other living beings. The philosophy of the NSS is well doctrine in this motto ,which underlines /on the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole and therefore,the NSS volunteer’sshall strive the well being of the society.


The main objective of NSS

  • Understand the community in which they work
  • Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems

Activities of our college NSS team

Free general medical camp:
A community health camp was organized by our NSS team at Keelapoongudi,Sivagangai districton 23:02:2016. The objective of the health camp was to provide free medical check ups,and referral for the patients those required long term attention. The camp was inaugurated by Dr.Benedict Regi MBBS,DCH Arsanur PHC.Around 108 patient were benefitted by this camp.
Plantation of tree saplings:
Our NSS team has planted  100 tree saplings in thirumanjolai village to create an  awareness of  green house effect with help of local panchayat workers. The saplings were planted on the sides of road and were maintained by village panchayat.

ALUMINI

The Alumini of RASS college of nursing was active from the year 2011 .The membership was open to all graduates of RASS con .Presently More than 350 students have membership with our association. Alumini of Rass has periodic reunion of members, organizes workshop, releases newsletter through website.

YOUTH REDCROSS

Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a voluntary service body of our university  which supports humanitarian services to the community through voluntary service YRC also provide training to develop leadership quality and overall personality improvement of the students by organizing and participating in the activities of YRC .
Youth represents a substantial part of the membership of red cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red cross programme. This has been designed to involve  young people as much as possible in the movement  and its activities not only as workers and also as beneficiaries ,but as partners in management. The programme focuses on the following area:

  • Promote life and health through training and education on healthy living
  • Encourage community service through training and education
  • Disseminate the seven fundamental principles of Red cross and Red crescent movement through activities that encourage the Red cross ideals.
  • Promote international friendship with activities that cultivate a humanitarian spirit.
  • Technical support in the development of youth programme, fund raising ,identification of material and human resources.

Activities of YRC

Blood donation camp:

The blood donation rally was conducted by RASS Academy college of nursing students every year from Sivagangai collector office to government hospital in order to create the awareness among the community about blood donation. Our student actively participated and made this programme successful. The blood donation camp was organized every year in the college premises. The students from our college and near by college donated their blood
